In Ecuador we have many small grass-roots NGO´s that fight for human rights. Many of these organisations struggle to finance their work and as such, they don’t have the resources to have a complete workforce and therefore concentrate their energies to do the best they can and some local workers are often volunteers themselves.
Many causes or campaigns that they work for can demand that they have help from specialists within other fields and they often require cooperation with other NGO´s that have expertise in the required discipline to support them to ensure human rights are upheld. Networking between different NGO´s is vital to ensure the safety and rights of the general population.
Interns that have an interest in participating in NGO’s that strive for human rights will have a chance to apply for the best projects that work within their field of choice. Participants will usually have a chance to see different aspects of the work of multiple NGO’s and their tasks will include:
